Program Manager: Airiel Peoples
Airiel is originally from Littleton, Colorado and has recently made a transition with her family to Cecil County. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Ethnic Studies and Indigenous Philosophy. During her residency in Colorado, Airiel received a certification as a Brain Injury Specialist and was employed as a Case Manager by The Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado. As a strong advocate for patients with brain injury, Airiel assisted low income clientele in identifying positive supports and resources to meet their needs. Additionally, Airiel was an Independent Living Skills Specialist with Argus Home Health where she provided case management and direct care to enable clients to independently sustain themselves.
Airiel also assisted in running campaigns for The Fund for the Public Interest to win change for our environment, public health, and other important causes. Airiel was previously employed as a preschool teacher for Head Start, and later as a teacher assistant for Free Horizon Montessori School.
While attending Fort Lewis College, Airiel volunteered with the Colorado A.I.M. (American Indian Movement), the Latina Initiative, Youth of America, and the African Community Center. She studied abroad in Santiago, Chile and has traveled to Belize, Jamaica, South America and Mexico. As an outdoor enthusiast, Airiel enjoys hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, and farming. She is excited to be a part of the CASA team and looks forward to her new position as the Program Manager for CASA of Cecil County.
